The Landmark
Visual identity concept for the Landmark Center, one of the most recognizable and celebrated buildings in The Fenway where history, beauty, and convenience converge. The proposed brand identity is inspired by the historic cornerstone taking several architectural cues from the building from its height to the pattern and repetition of vertical lines and of curved windows.
The Landmark Center was built in 1929 as a mail-order house and department store for Sears, Roebuck and Co. during the retailer’s transition from mail-order business to national network of urban destination stores. The iconic building is a locally rare example of Art Moderne architecture and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
